Deno Deploy
Run JavaScript and TypeScript close to users on a global edge network.
ABOUT
What is Deno Deploy?
Deno Deploy is Deno's edge platform for running JavaScript and TypeScript without a separate transpilation or bundling workflow. It deploys quickly from GitHub and runs applications close to users through a distributed edge network. The free plan offers clear monthly quotas for small projects: 1M requests, 20 GB egress bandwidth, 15 hours of CPU time, 350 GB-h of memory time and 1 GiB of KV storage. Upgrading to Pro at $20/month removes these quotas and adds team features.

COMMUNITY
From the forums
The Deno community frequently praises Deno Deploy for its clean TypeScript-first workflow and exceptionally fast setup for side projects and small backend services. Community discussion also points to ecosystem and platform maturity trade-offs compared with Node.js, as well as concern after Deno Deploy reduced its available regions in 2025. The broad sentiment is that the runtime is stable and the developer experience is excellent when its constraints fit the project.

FAQ
Questions, answered.
Is Deno Deploy free?+
Yes. The free plan includes 1M requests, 20 GB of egress bandwidth, 15 hours of CPU time and 350 GB-h of memory time per month. No credit card is required. Pro plans start at $20/month for teams and higher limits.
Does Deno Deploy have cold starts?+
Not in the classic sense. Deno Deploy runs code directly on the edge without spinning up a container. Initial response times are very low under normal conditions.
Can I use npm packages on Deno Deploy?+
Yes. Deno supports importing npm packages using the `npm:` prefix. A large portion of the Node.js ecosystem is compatible this way, though packages that rely on native system APIs may not work in the edge environment.
Does Deno Deploy support databases?+
Deno Deploy includes Deno KV, a distributed key-value store available natively on the edge. For external databases like Postgres or MySQL, you connect from your code the same way you would from any other edge platform.
What happens when I exhaust my monthly quota on Deno Deploy?+
If the free plan quotas are consumed, applications stop serving requests until the monthly counter resets or you upgrade to a paid plan. This is different from Cloudflare Workers, which never pauses the service on the free tier.
